While I'm away

While I'm at home nursing my husband back to health after his total knee replacement, Gail generously offered to sub for me while I'm away. Here's what she had to say...

"So we had a good time. Nice conversations all around the room, mostly talking with people closest to each other. Charlene brought some super bulky chenille-ish yarn to give away and it was gone lickety split!

I will say Maria and Bob had a very good game of yarn toss across the room with quite good accuracy! Funny!" What's that expression? When the cat's away the mice will play. And don't the students always act up for the subs?!?! ;) Sounds like there was a lot of action in my absence.

My computer won't let me put these pics in the order in which they belong so think of it in the opposite direction. Gerry helped Jim sew up his crocheted creation and he was quite pleased with the end result, as he should be. Great job Jim!

He immediately began another project which Gail is guessing might be another hat.

Bob continues to feel happy with his colorful creations.

Pam started a new Helix Hat.

And Janna is a good way through her Pantheon Beanie. Such a pretty color!

It looks like Charlene is making another jacket for one of her granddaughters. Tomasa is making the Twistmas Hat in a bright blue and Athena started another shawl.

Debra worked on the good ol' 2x2 ribbed hat, sturdy and warm! There are many variations but this is my favorite and it's very easy.

Gerry started a new hat and Gail said by the end of session it was quite far along. Maria had two projects going at once, the green one is a hat or maybe a cowl, and the other a hat. Yvonne is working on a 2x2 hat also. She got the pattern, My Manly Hat, from a yarn store called Beau Knits in Cohoes, NY. My first set of interchangeable knitting needles came from the same store. Sadly, the store no longer exists.

Gail added a few more inches to her Helix Hat but is running out of the black yarn. A trip to the yarn store is in her future.

I'm not sure when I will return to our Friday meets but knowing Gail is in charge makes me happy. Who knows? By next Friday I might be looking forward to a day out alone. ;) Have a good week and keep those needles clicking!
