I haven't seen Margareta since before the pandemic so when she appeared in the doorway, my mind recognized her face but searched wildly through the dusty archives for her name. I felt embarrassed that I had to ask her since she remembered mine. But we fell right into conversation and caught up on the past. She has been working with senior citizens on Fridays so hasn't been able to join us but she will if her schedule changes. She was on the hunt for a simple scarf pattern which I was able to pull up from my library to share with her.

We filled all the tables again this week.
I am proud to have such a dedicated group of individuals!

And they are so generous and willing to share their knowledge when it's needed!

Athena worked diligently on her crocheted circles for her blanket.

She ran into some snags but we were able to work it out.

Yvonne completed the rosy mauve blanket which she is setting aside for some future time when a great-grandchild should join her family. For the current project, she started a cheery yellow basket weave pattern baby blanket. I am still working on the sleeves of the baby jacket using two at a time, magic loop method.
Barbara completed a sweet little layette set. She had started the Yngrid Sweater last week but found that the pattern had so many errors that it wasn't worth the effort to continue with it so she opted to knit the Tiny Isla sweater instead. It's one she has made before so she knew it would work. Tina and I joked that Barbara knitted a hat for Wilson too. IYKYK

Barbara's current WIP is the Bethany Pixie Bonnet. The pattern is free on Ravelry and has a matching blanket too.

Tina brought her Monarda Shawl to show us her progress. It's coming along beautifully. When it comes time to block it to bloom the lace, she'll need blocking wires for the straight edges. Barbara suggested that instead of buying the ones that are sold specifically for knitting and crochet which are very expensive, go to a hardware store and ask for stainless steel welding rods which are at least half the price. Just make sure to smooth the ends so if there are any burrs, it won't snag the yarn. And for the mats to pin the garment, the spongy interlocking rubber garage floor tiles work great. They are twice as large as blocking mats and again, much less expensive! Tina's Owlie Sleep Sack has grown too.
Ceil started the second ball of yarn for her corner to corner blanket. Maria was inspired to start one of her own using a lemony yellow yarn.
Gail started the Among the Wildflowers Beanie, a Benjamin Matthews pattern. We are all very fond of his well designed and well written hat patterns. She is using a gorgeous turquoise yarn. I have to admit I am partial to that color! She also finished her beautiful Lazy Cables Blanket.
Tomasa gathered some odds and ends of yarn to make a Helix Hat and she has made progress on her Raglan Sweater as well.
Bob added a vibrant orange to his blanket. We love to anticipate what color he will add next.

Edgar's blanket is coming along slowly but steadily. Like Maria and Ceil, he's working on a corner to corner blanket.

Darwin's blanket looks like it will fit nicely on a twin size bed.

Debra started another blanket with the self patterning yarn. She hasn't decided if she wants to knit another cable blanket or some other stitch but she has time to decide since she's working the border.

Jim is enjoying his scarf project and getting back into knitting after a long stretch of crocheting.

And Missy gets to crochet only when she has the time to spend with us so it's taking a long time for her to finish the summer top she's making.

My Fozzie emptied his roly poly treat dispenser and is looking for his dinner. So before he gets into mischief...
I'll wish you a happy weekend and keep those needles clicking!
