Back in the saddle again...sort of...

After a doozy of a seasonal allergy reaction which kept me laid up for a few days, I'm back to my knitting and visiting with my Stitch Angels. They wondered who the new baritone was when I tried to speak but it didn't hold me back from knitting.

My apologies to Tanya for not making formal introductions today but I'll make up for it next time we meet. She arrived today with a bag filled with additions to our inventory and has more at home. She is a very skilled knitter and made different sized hats, headbands, and mittens.

Tanya is a friend of Tina who invited her to join the group. It's always nice to add another friendly face, and one with such great knitting skills!

Tanya worked on the Greenery Beret this afternoon. The beret is covered in pretty lace.

Tina added to her Phazelia Baby Jacket. This is a good pattern to use variegated yarns or self striping yarns as they help to highlight the angles that make up the sweater.

ree

Barbara finished her Top Down Raglan Child's Sweater and added a matching hat and started a matching blanket.

ree

These were a pair of booties she completed a few weeks back.

ree

Yvonne finished two hats and the yummy yellow blanket. It was made using a fully reversible basket weave stitch.

Now she is working on the Bradford Peaks Beanie, a lovely cap adorned with cables.

ree

Cinzia finished knitting the pieces of her pullover and is now sewing the pieces together.

I was breezing along on my Dexter Vest when I discovered I knitted about 10 stitches which were supposed to be purled. Sometimes my hands work on automatic pilot. So I spent a good portion of the time dropping one stitch at a time to crochet them back up to the needle so I wouldn't have to rip out a good 3 inches of knitting. I can't see where I made the mistake. Can you?

ree

Rena is just starting the Mini-Slouch Beanie.

ree

And Ceil is much happier with the results of dropping down two needle sizes on her Touch of Kindness blanket.

ree

Gail has reached the ribbing portion of her Top Down Raglan Child's Cardigan.

Up next, sleeves.

ree

Athena keeps working hard on her crocheted blanket.

ree

Mike finished both of his checkerboard hats. The two color portion is stranded knitting and the inside looks as nice as the public side. He chose to knit different cuffs for each hat.

ree

Carol started a scarf with a pretty variegated yarn. The colors will be showing up soon.

ree

Charlene finished her Throwback Pixie Hood after I took this picture.

ree

Now she is ready to knit the sleeves on the Norwegian Fir sweater.

ree

Jim started knitting with a new color.

ree

And Edgar keeps plugging along on his blanket.

ree

Bob has also added a new color to his design.

ree

Pam is working on her second 1898 Hat. The band that fits around the head is knitted flat then folded in half. From the edge, stitches are picked up to knit the crown in the round.

ree

Gerry is almost finished with another square for her family memory blanket.

ree

Alison learned a new stitch for her crochet square.

ree

Next Friday is Independence Day so the library will be closed. We will meet again

on July 11. Have a great two weeks and keep those needles clicking!
