Last Friday the Stitch Angels shared their favorite or first made projects. Keiko missed the opportunity to show her first project. She arrived in the US in 2023 with a desire to learn how to speak English and how to knit and found us. I am in awe with how Keiko dove headlong into both and made great strides of success. Her request was to knit a double mitten which she designed herself. She drew a diagram of her idea and then Barbara and I set the wheels in motion.

Keiko made notes along the way to guide her when Barbara and I couldn’t be around to help.

After a few weeks, she finished knitting her double mitten which she could now wear while holding hands with her husband and they would both have warm hands.

I am happy to have been a part of Keiko’s knitting journey and glad the Stitch Angels have helped to make happy memories for Keiko to bring back to Japan when she returns.

Keiko, we will miss you, your bubbly personality, and your radiant smile when you leave next month. You have certainly knit yourself into our memories which we will carry in our hearts.💕 Keep your needles clicking Keiko! We love you!

It must be spring!

There was a Mama Cardinal visiting our window this afternoon. She kept hopping from the branches of a shrub to hover against the windows...
