There were 16 Stitch Angels in attendance today. Next week there may be more. Two lovely ladies stopped in to introduce themselves and ask if we could give them lessons in knitting and crochet. That's what we do! So I'm looking forward to adding new members.
I'm going to have to delegate some of the teaching to other experienced knitters and crochters in the group to help out.
The reason I said I was stumped today was because I was helping Keiko with the Cathedral Shawl, a sweet lacy pattern that I've knitted for myself in the past. But at the beginning of the lace pattern were instructions that just didn't make sense to me. I don't recall having this much difficulty the first time so I looked up the pattern on Ravelry and THEY DISCONTINUED IT!!!! I was hoping that maybe I would find some info. Maybe I'll take the deep dive down the rabbit hole and read what other knitters have written about their experience making it.
Gail completed another Manly Hat. She originally planned to use the red and white yarns together for the whole hat but felt it would be overwhelming so opted for just the cuff. Looks great!

She is currently working on a Helix Hat that looks like a bumble bee! :)

Rena just got started on another hat for our collection using a bulky weight gray yarn.

Charlene purchased a kit to make a modular knit scarf but had to put it in time out when it wouldn't "behave". She decided to give it a second try after consulting me about a stitch which was out of place.

Barbara continues to work on her Gluckskind Baby Blanket which she is knitting for her daughter's college friend. It's a freebie on Ravelry.

Ceil has chosen a gorgeous teal yarn to knit another Bankhead hat for the inventory.

Kathy, who was a new Stitch Angel last week, is also working on a Bankhead hat. She paired the black yarn with a sparkle yarn to make it easier to see. Those very dark fibers are hard to work with and often cause eye strain. I have found that if I lay a white pillowcase or dish towel across my lap it helps to reflect light upward and makes it easier to see.

Tina has mastered the art of sock knitting after her first experience of 57 starts.
She was not going to let that first pair defeat her!
This is her second pair which took only 2 tries to get going.
Once she is comfortable with magic loop she said she would like to try TAAT (two-at-a-time).

MaryJo is making the Ingrid pullover for herself. Look at that beautiful stitching!
This is truly a work of art!

She also added two more hats to our inventory.

Yvonne is fond of knitting intricately patterned dish cloths. She made a basket weave pattern using cotton yarn. Pam is just starting a Knitted Knocker, a prosthetic for breast cancer survivors.
Pam has an alternate project going, a pretty pastel scarf for spring knitted in a light weight cotton yarn.

I haven't made much progress on my Panini Beanie but there is time. Geri started another crocheted hat. I said she must really love the person she is making it for if she is using black yarn! And Jim has decided when he finishes his current project, he would like to learn how to read a pattern so we were checking out a few techniques to familiarize him with it.
Edgar works slowly and methodically on his hat.

Well, I'm going to check out that pattern for Keiko and try to figure out those instructions. This may take a while. Call me when it's time to go to bed. ;)
Have a great week and keep those needles clicking!
