I would have been here sooner but "someone" needed his food supply replenished and there were long lines at the checkout. I know Fozzie appreciates all we do for him. He is the king of his "catsle" after all.
We had a crowd of 14 today working on a variety of items for personal and donation use.
Keiko completed her Hat of a Cat hat which turned out beautifully. Jim helped model it too. Now she is working on a miniature pullover sweater with a Fair Isle pattern. It's like the mini sweaters that Gail is making.
The sweaters are part of an Christmas Calendar project that Gail is making. She is currently adding the sleeves to her #3 sweater.
Edgar needed a little reassurance that his crochet hat project is on the right track.
With much practice, he is improving his crochet skills with every stitch.
Athena also needed a little help with her blanket. One of the tricky parts of crochet is keeping the edges from flaring out so we put removable stitch markers every 10 stitches to help her maintain an even edge.
She puts a ton of effort into her work.
Rena completed a Mock Cable Hat and immediately started...
another hat!
The yarn Tomasa is using for her Bewind Hat is giving lovely stitch definition which highlights the traveling stitch pattern.
Debra has a collection of mittens which require the ends to be woven into the back of the work. It's not her favorite chore! ;)
But little by little, they are getting done.
Jim began a new band of color on his blanket while Darwin added length to his bag and Bob added a new color to his blanket.
Yvonne pointed out to me how the yarn pooling made a lined design that changed angles part way through her 2X2 ribbed hat. Barbara chose a bright neon yellow yarn for her Rafa's Hat so it would stand out in a crowd. And what started out as a hat on my needles quickly changed to the Hepsi's Neckwarmer. A few more inches and it will be finished.
Gerry is using a sparkly yarn to crochet a lacy scarf.
We have two more weeks to work on our yarn bombing projects. We're hoping the weather is nice on November 15 so we can hang our handiwork in the trees and on the benches around the library. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will move it to the following Friday, November 22. Until then, keep those needles clicking!
