One week later, my husband has made it through total knee replacement surgery with flying colors and is well enough that I could leave him to his own devices for a couple of hours today. It's a good thing too because there were lots of questions to answer, patterns to sort, and a new Stitch Angel to welcome to the group.
Jese is a SAHM who wants to learn to crochet and maybe later on, knit. She found out about the Stitch Angels after attending a wreath making event at the library and while YouTube can offer many lessons, it is easier to sit beside someone with experience who can guide you on your journey of learning a new skill. So today she learned how to crochet a foundation chain. The most challenging part is training muscle memory. Once you get comfortable with the movements, the rest is a piece of cake. I look forward to guiding Jese on her path to crafting.

Barbara is working on a deadline to finish a baby blanket for a friend who is due in a month. She is doing a beautiful job of creating what reminds me of a Guernsey sweater pattern with its variety of stitches.

This beautiful blanket is called Gluckskind, a free pattern on Ravelry. It begins as a pinhole cast on in the center of the blanket and is knitted outward to the edge so you better have a very long circular needle to accommodate all the stitches by the end.

Geri finished a crocheted hat and immediately started another one in black yarn for our current project, men's hats. Jim is working on the pink hat he's making for a friend.
Debra B reached the portion of her hat when she begins decreasing to close the crown at the top of the hat. She has it inside out on her needles but will turn it around as she completes it.

And by the end of the day, she was ready to close off the remaining stitches.

We haven't seen MaryJo in a long time as she spends much of the summer months away. She was gathering supplies and searching for a pattern to knit a hat but didn't have anything on her needles yet. But did you notice her adorable cowl and sweater? Yes, she knitted both!

Ceil is making another Bankhead hat, a good, warm hat with just enough going on in the pattern to make it interesting but still easy enough for Knitflixing. ;)

Athena is using a bulky weight chenille yarn which produces a fluffy, cozy fabric.

Yvonne finished that hat I showed you last week and...

this week is working on a hat with cables. Next one is coming up any second now!

Debra F made progress on her 2x2 ribbed hat. She contemplated making a pattern that offset the ribbing but wasn't sure if it would show up in the dark green yarn so she'll try that pattern on the next hat.

Rena's hat should knit up quickly with that super bulky yarn!

And Pat's hat shouldn't take long either with the thick needles and bulky yarn.

On my needles is The Panini Beanie in the very beginning stages of ribbing. It can be worn as a slouchy hat with the cuff flat or as a tighter fitting hat with the cuff folded.

I didn't knit much on it because I was making the rounds and catching up with everyone after missing last week.
Bob started another new blanket while Edgar contemplated his next step on his hat.
Darwin finished a crocheted hat to add to the inventory.
I love the little spot of color at the top of the crown!
It's supposed to get really cold around here this weekend so I have some tasty herbal teas and all my projects lined up and ready to knit. Keep warm and keep those needles clicking!
