We had a crowd!

There were 20 Stitch Angels in attendance today! That's the most we've had in a long time. Some arrived early and left early and some arrived later and stayed until lights out. It's so nice to have such a dedicated group to share our avocation!

Janna had two sweaters that she knitted many years ago for her late parents and wanted them to be put to good use so she donated them to Pat's group. These were both knitted with Icelandic wool which means they are toasty warm in the winter. The center picture is her completed 1898 hat that she spruced up with a colorful crown.
I am nearing the end of the body section on a toddler size cardigan. Next up will be picking up the sleeve stitches and knitting on the button bands. Athena continued to add rounds to her crocheted blanket. She has begun attaching those rounds together using a crochet stitch.
Three more blankets in progress are being made
by Gerry, Darwin, and Debra F in that order.
Edgar finished his crocheted hat today! Look at the expression of pride in that smile.

Now he wants to learn how to knit so I sat with him to guide him on his new journey. He picked up how to knit a cable cast on and then knitted a few rows of garter stitch quite quickly. Next week I'll show him how to put his new skills to work on a corner to corner blanket.

Maria decided the seed stitch edging on the Lazy Cables Blanket was just not cooperating with her so she frogged it and will start over using a garter edge instead.

Jim's chenille blanket is warm and fuzzy.

Ceil's corner to corner blanket has entered a new color phase.

And Gail's Lazy Cables Blanket is showing off those cables with great depth and definition.

Barbara's Misterioso Hat is unfortunately a pattern not available online any longer. It's a good thing she printed out a copy of the pattern.

Janna had another project to show us, a crocheted monkey which her mother started many years ago but didn't have the chance to finish.
The center picture is the beginning of the Dasha Baby Blanket that Janna started with this lovely, rich green yarn.
Pat continued to work on her cheerful yellow blanket.
Bob has added another new color to his knitted blanket.

Tina wanted to try to knit something other than her favorite project, socks. She picked out a sweet lace shawlette called Monarda. She found the pattern in The Big Book of Knitted Shawls or Sock Yarn Shawls II, a book which is out of print but might be available at a library.
Tomasa started a second hat from the Double Rib Toddler Hat pattern which included directions for the cute little coral hat in the center.
Pam finished the body of the matching pullover set and will be picking up sleeve stitches.
Yvonne completed a whole collections of dish cloths and brought them in for Gail to weave in loose ends.

The cotton yarn Yvonne used showed up the stitch definition perfectly.

And she's thinking ahead to our fall yarn bombing and has completed two hats already for our inventory.

Pam started a shawl with a very soft cotton/acrylic blend yarn that she purchased from the Hobbii site in Denmark (not to be confused with Hobby Lobby).

The pattern for her Silver Semi-circular Shawl is a freebie on Ravelry.

And guess who arrived after a long absence. Hint: she makes LOTS of mittens.

It's Maggie! It was so good to see her again and catch up with her knitting.

If anyone is interested, WEBS is having the first month of their annual anniversary two month long blowout sale. Now would be a good time to stock up on yarns for the year. But make sure you have plans and patterns with you so you don't wind up purchasing yarn that will sit in a box for years until you give it away. I learned this after my second trip to the store. Now when I shop I bring my tablet with all my patterns so I don't have to guess what I might need.
It's been a long day and I'm hungry or hangry, haven't figured out which so I'll leave off here to wish you a great week and keep those needles clicking!
