Cinzia, on the left, is my friend who knits with me in my other charity knitting group so like many of us, she loves to be around fellow knitters. Now you may ask, "But what is that contraption? It doesn't look like knitting to me." It is a Rigid Heddle Loom and I'm helping Cinzia with the process of warping it so she can weave a scarf. It took us a good 45 minutes or so to get the fiber on the loom and now every other strand has to be fed through the heddle so the fibers can be woven. It is a very time consuming process to set up a loom but once it's done the weaving part is a breeze and fun to do. After helping her, I am feeling inspired to get back to my weaving as it can produce a 60" scarf in a few hours (once the warping is done) as opposed to days or even weeks of knitting.

There were 7 of us today even though you see only 4. Barbara was taking pictures while Cinzia and I worked on the loom.

Maria made lots of progress on the scarf she's making to pair with the ombre hat she knitted a few weeks ago.

Ceil worked on a cozy pair of fingerless mitts.
It's a free pattern on Ravelry. Just click on the words "fingerless mitts" and it will take you to the page.

Barbara started a Helix Hat with warm autumn-y colors. Can't wait to see it completed.

Tomasa is just starting a sock using the magic loop method which replaces having to use 4 or 5 double pointed needles. I wish I could shake hands with the genius who devised this technique and thank him/her for making sock knitting so much more enjoyable.

Karen is trying her hand at a picot bind off for her RBG lace collar. She watched a YouTube video to refresh her memory on how it's done. Thank goodness for those videos. I would be lost without them!

I took this picture last night of my Hepsi's Neckwarmer but now I'm actually binding off the stitches so it should be finished tonight.

I want to say thank you to Peggy Walsh and Cecilia Tkaczyk for their donations to the library program which is collecting items for the Albany Street Soldiers distribution.

Now that the Stitch Angels have completed items for the Street Soldiers we look forward to our next project which will be making warm woolies for Unity House in Troy, an organization that helps victims of domestic violence. I think I'll have to hunt through my patterns for amigurumi to find some stuffed toys to make for the children who are served by Unity House.
Until next time, keep those needles clicking!
