It was a great day for a yarn bombing!

My Stitch Angels were joined by my Chicks with Sticks on a windy but balmy day to distribute our handiwork to the community at our yarn bombing.

We started inside where we attached the labels which read, "I am not lost. If you are cold, take me and know someone cares." Each item was sorted according to type of clothing so we could get a total of what was made.

The grand total of hats, scarves, mittens, cowls, and sets of hats paired with cowls or mittens came to...drum roll please...146!!! Some of those items were pairs so there were really even more if you count each piece individually.

Jan, Maureen, Debra, and Rena walked to the elementary school a block away to distribute items on the fence for the students there. Maybe the taller ladies should have taken that job.

The rest of us spread out in front of the library to hang items along the block. Someone in a car waiting for the traffic light to turn green was asking what was going on. We invited them to park and take a look.

This sweet elderly gentleman wondered if we were selling these hats and couldn't believe his luck when we told him it was free for the taking. It took some convincing to get him to pick out a scarf and hat and then he offered to pose for a picture.

It looks so cheerful to see the colorful clothing hanging in the trees.

It didn't take long to decorate the park with our handiwork. Then it was time for...

The group picture of Angels and Chicks together. Some of the Angels stayed inside, protected from the wind.

As a reward to ourselves, we walked over to Emack and Bolio for some ice cream treats. Upon my return to the library, there was a little family who took advantage of the offer and picked out some warm winter woolies.

I hope all who find something to take, wear them in good health and pray it brings smiles to their faces and peace in their hearts.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and keep those needles clicking!
