There was a Mama Cardinal visiting our window this afternoon. She kept hopping from the branches of a shrub to hover against the windows of the room where we meet. I think she was scouting out a safe place for a nest or maybe she was protecting one already made. In any case, it was nice to see her as a sign of warmer weather to come.
Meanwhile, all 15 of us were busy inside making items for personal use and to donate to the Troy Head Start program.

I made sure to get pictures of Barbara's and Pat's handiwork first thing today so I wouldn't forget again like last week!. Barbara started the Legato Hat from Chit Chat Knits, a paid pattern on Ravelry. It has an interesting construction which makes a double thick brim. She also finished the Garter Trim Hat and the Mountain Snowcap Hat from last week. Both of these patterns are free.
And Pat is determined to finish this baby blanket in time to donate. She has one she started before her granddaughter's birth which sits unfinished and the sweetie pie is nine months old already. I get it! Blankets are a major undertaking and you have to put them in time out sometimes to fight off the boredom.

Pam worked solely on her DASHA blanket for weeks and now it's finally completed.

She said the pattern was easy to memorize.

Alison was back today. She is just learning how to crochet.

With some guidance and corrections from Gerry, she is making progress.

Edgar needed some encouragement with his hat which he is crocheting.

Soon it will be time to sew the seams.

Maria dropped a stitch on the second row of her seed stitch border for

But she is back on track now and making progress again.

Bob picks the happiest color combinations for his blankets.

Darwin gets his inspiration from his favorite video game characters.

Debra F is working on a 2x2 ribbed hat in a nice variegated worsted weight yarn.

Rena added a narrow band of black yarn which perfectly highlights the color break on her corner to corner blanket.

Yvonne completed two more dishcloths and...

started another colorful hat for a little one.

I was unhappy with the sloppy stitches surrounding the raglan increases on my Knit Baby Jacket Set so I yanked the needle out of the stitches and will start over.

Pam is almost finished with the body of a cute pullover. She bought the pattern but it's not available on Ravelry.

I'm pretty sure she will get more than one sweater out of this ball of yarn! She purchased it on sale from a Danish company called Hobbii, 1,800 yards for $13!!! And if you spend a minimum, you get free shipping. It would be worth it to get some friends together and place a joint order!

Janna is picking up stitches on her child size 1898 Hat. This pattern makes a double thick cuff to keep the ears warm. The pattern is written for a one size fits adults but if you use a smaller gauge needle and yarn you can make a smaller hat.

Ceil finished her beautiful Richland Shawl and will take it home to be blocked. Blocking will help the yarn to "bloom" and open up the lace work.

That's all we have for this week. I need to get those stitches back on my needles so I can keep them clicking! Have a great week and keep your fingers crossed that springtime weather keeps improving.
