If feels like autumn...

Except where Mike is at the time this was taken. He and his wife are taking a break in Arizona and he sent a picture of the progress he's made on his sweater project. Everything is knitted but the sleeves. Unfortunately, he left his double pointed needles at home but has access to the long circular needle he used for the body of the sweater so he's going to try his hand at making the sleeves using magic loop method. Looking good Mike!

We had another good attendance day with 17 Angels present. We've been filling every seat and then some each week. I love it!!!

Gail brought in her Stephen West MKAL (mystery knit-a-long) called Geogradient. She will be keeping this beautiful project for herself. When you join an MKAL, you are given the yarn requirements and needle size, etc. but no photo of the finished item or pattern instructions. The instructions are distributed a little at a time in clues. The center square portion was clue number one and the area which begins the eyelet lace section is part of clue number two but Gail has no idea where it's going from here.
Her color choices are reminiscent of a summer at the beach...lovely!

This is Gail's current donation project called Antler Toque from Tincanknits and is free on Ravelry. She was on a roll and flubbed the cables but is back on track now.

Barbara ran a lifeline through her knitting for insurance against errors (that's the yellow yarn) and is now working on the body of her little cardigan.
Keiko started a new shawl called 22.5 Degrees and took video of my hands teaching her how to knit in the front and back of a stitch to increase. She finished her Sophie Scarf and needs to block it to even out the stitches. Considering she didn't know how to knit, Keiko did a fantastic job with her project!
Missy started a crochet headband which was finished by the time we were done for the day. She even modeled it for us.
She also completed the lace purse and now needs to line it with fabric.
Karen was working through a trial and error for a basic beanie cap. Her knitting tends to be loose so she has to check the gauge of her work against the written pattern gauge to make sure it has the proper fit.

Rena started another hat too. She can really crank them out!

And Yvonne finished her cabled beanie using a rich, royal, burgundy yarn.

Debra fired up her DP's to cast on another pair of mittens for the yarn bombing which is coming up way too soon.
I.MUST.KNIT.FASTER!!!

Kathy had help with her beading from her friend Anaiah.

And Darwin practiced his crochet skills with a little help from Gerry.

Then Gerry added a bit more length to the handle for her lovely Celtic hand bag.

You can see the new addition of brightly colored yarn to Bob's blanket project.
He loves his cheerful colors!

Tomasa chose a tweedy type of yarn to make a colorful beanie too. The yarn is plied with a twist of a contrasting color which does all the work for you.

Pam completed one sock for her sister and is working on the second. It's nice of her sister to have such petite feet so the knitting doesn't drag on forever! LOL!

Cinzia chose a pattern to knit a Reversible Stripes Scarf. If you look closely you'll notice the stripes on the right side of the photo run horizontally from side to side while the stripes on the left run vertically from the needle down. Whenever I make this pattern I spend more time flipping the scarf over trying to figure out how on earth the stripes do that!!! I know how, but it still boggles my mind.

I'm working on a reversible item as well but it's a hat. This side will have the stripe and the other will be solid gray. It's fun to make but feels like it takes forever because you are really making two hats in one. It will be toasty warm with its double thick fabric.

This weekend is the annual New England Sheep and Wool Festival at the Mallory Complex on the grounds of the Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts. I always look forward to this one because it is held indoors so weather is never a deterrent. I'll have to defer my knitting for a day but then as soon as I return I'll be keeping those needles clicking!
