I'm getting a late start writing today because I just had to take advantage of the gorgeous day and go for a walk while the sun was still bright. My neighborhood is ablaze with color which takes my breath away. But now back to why you came here.
There were 15 of us today, some working on projects for the yarn bombing while others worked on holiday gifts.
Ceil is making the Homestead Shawl, a paid pattern on Ravelry. The tonal burgundy yarn has deep hues that look like rubies. She finished weaving the ends of her Upward Bound Beanie by Benjamin Matthews. We all agreed that we like his hat patterns and his model is easy on the eyes too! LOL!
Barbara finished two Hat of a Cat hats for family members and...
started the provisional cast on for another.
Bob started a new blanket while Darwin crocheted another purse. Jim is working on a blanket for a friend who requested Green Bay Packers colors.
They brought along their friend, Gerry, who doesn't knit or crochet
but she's a wiz at video games.
Edgar needed a refresher on how to make a single crochet so he could make a hat.
His stitches are still a little too tight but he's getting better. I like to remind him, he didn't learn how to walk and talk in a day so be patient.
Missy worked on a headband for her year old granddaughter.
By the end of session it was finished and she added a cute little button accent.
Karen, in the background, brought her daughter, Amanda, to visit. She is an accomplished crocheter who makes working on her blanket look like a piece of cake.
Karen is working on a knitted poncho for Amanda.
Yvonne's Journey Scarf is almost finished while Pam's Quaking Aspen Cowl is about halfway there. On my needles is the Climber Crest Cap. I took a poll to see if everyone thought this was a man's hat or a woman's and the final count was 50/50 with the men in the group agreeing they would wear it.
Maria started a Quaking Aspen Cowl too which she is making for a friend who requested favorite colors.
Gail finished her Upward Bound Beanie in time to model it for us. It's going to keep someone nice and cozy this winter.
I'm glad I squeezed in that walk when I did because now that the sun is hiding behind some clouds, the temperature is dropping. I guess it's time for me to hunker down with my knitting and keep those needles clicking! See you next week!
