Getting back to work

After a two week hiatus we are back to work making clothing for the children of the elementary school across the street from the library. We are on schedule to deliver by mid February while it's still cold around here.

Everyone was eager to show me their progress since we last met. Jim added more rows of white to his lap row and is ready to add the hot pink yarn he chose today. Kathy kept busy stringing beads while Athena wrapped up her doily project and wove in the ends.

Barbara gifted a set of unused interchangeable needles to Keiko so she doesn't have to buy multiple sets of needles and find a way to store them all. They even come in this handy dandy storage case so you always know where they are.

Each of the needles is engraved with the millimeter and number size but you need eagle eyes to see them so Barbara was showing Keiko how to use a needle gauge to determine the size of the needle.

For now Keiko will finish up her 22.5 Degrees Scarf (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/225-degrees) on the fixed circular needle with which she started the project.

Barbara's next project is the All Wound Up Beanie after she completes the Men's Simple Swish Hat which, as you can see in the last photo, is almost finished.

Like many of us knitters, Barbara has more than one project on needles at the same time and she has made progress on her version of the 22.5 Degrees Shawl.

Ceil finished her Good Vibes Shawl just in time for the cold weather. It is stunning in person too! Love those colors!

She started another shawl called Fiber Friends Shawl, a shallow, pretty crescent shaped shawl with lace and cable inserts.

Gerry started the prettiest gradient yarn to crochet a triangular scarf. The gentle change in color is enhanced by the lacy pattern.

The Queen of Loom Knitting, Terry, is working on her Christmas gifts. Here is a scarf she is making using some of my favorite turquoise blues.

Rena is almost finished with another square for the baby afghan.

She is working her way through the squares from her pattern book.

Janna is cranking out yet another Helix Hat. We call them potato chip hats because you can't make just one! It's a great project for those small balls of yarn left over from larger projects.

Bob quietly knitted away on his afghan (first and last photo) while Beth started a crochet project with yarn as colorful as Bob's. She hasn't decided what it will be yet but so far, it's looking like a baby blanket to me.

Pat had a rare day off which hasn't happened in a long time. We miss our Angels when they're away! Anyway, while she was busy with work, she accidentally pulled the needle out of her project and couldn't remember what row of the pattern she last knitted. But we got her back up and running in no time. This will be a child size scarf when it's completed. Something tells me she is getting bored with the pattern. My motto is, "if it isn't fun don't do it." There have been many a scarf patterns which I started which have suddenly turned into kid size clothing or an infinity scarf.

Mike got some expert advice from Barbara on how to knit the sleeves of the sweater he's making using magic loop method. (https://youtu.be/7f6otEZCBh8?si=0r2pnQy3Q-k1s2JS)

He looks pleased as punch with his work so far, as he should be.

Mike is a novice knitter and doing a great job!

Maria hasn't been to our meetings in a long while either so it was so good to catch up with her and see what she's been up to. The hat is one she will be making for her daughter's BF and the beautiful robin's egg blue yarn will become the Love Note Sweater for herself.

My links are suddenly not working so if you are interested https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/love-note

Gail is working on this adorable Chullo style hat which she found in a Berroco pattern book. It's called the Four Winds Hat.

I made a little progress on my Sophie Scarf (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sophie-scarf-2). It's slow going because I keep putting it down in favor of other projects that catch my attention. Some people call that "Startitis".

That's a wrap for this week. Stay warm and keep those needles clicking!
