Today we put our labels on the hats which we donated to the Capital City Rescue Mission in Albany. The hats were sorted into machine washable and a few gentle wash and lay flat to dry. We collected a grand total of 94 hats! Way to go Stitch Angels. And a special thanks to Nari and Patty who are not members but always send their contributions with Maria.
It's always fun to sort through and review the items we've knitted and send good thoughts to their recipients.
When we returned after delivery we got back to work.

Bob worked on another blanket, as did Darwin and Athena.
We added a new Angel this week. This lovely lady is Carolyn. She wants to learn how to knit so we discussed what supplies she needs to get started. After speaking with her, I found out she works for CEO, Commission on Economic Opportunity in Troy https://www.ceoempowers.org/where they have Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Her visit was perfectly timed since the Angels now need a new group for whom we can knit! So our next project is knitting and crocheting items for babies and toddlers to be distributed to their clients.

Tomasa said she hasn't made anything for herself in a while so she decided on this hat, Chelsea in Paris. She mentioned that the variegated yarn wasn't very exciting so she held it together with a stunning magenta mohair to create a completely different fabric. It's gorgeous! Don't ever underestimate the beauty you can create with a subtle, bland yarn paired with a bright mohair.
It's been ages since we've seen Anne! Sometimes life gets in the way of things we like to do but she is going to make sure she schedules us into her calendar. She's been working on shrugs and shawls just making them up as she goes along. They're lovely and look so pretty with her purple hair!
Jim finished his crocheted hat and....

started a new project, a king size blanket. He's using a super bulky weight chenille yarn which will make it soft and squishy!

Edgar's hat is measuring in at 15" so far. When it reaches 22" then he will sew up the seam and gather the crown to complete it.

Gerry lost her favorite hat which she crocheted for herself so she started a new one. Chances are, as soon as she finishes this one, the other one will show up.

Yvonne has lots of purple yarn to knit up so she added another dishcloth to her collection. Keiko worked on her Cathedral Shawl and Ceil added to her cowl.
Rena started her Christmas knitting early. This will be a hat and...

she's almost finished with a bulky weight scarf, sure to keep someone cozy and warm.

I have some great yarns for baby clothes sitting in my stash so I can't wait to get started. I know I'll be spending time down the rabbit hole searching for just the right pattern so I can
Keep those needles clicking!
