Judy, on the right, is a fairly new knitter and our newest Stitch Angel. She was referred to us by her friend Yvonne who is sitting on the left, working on a 2X2 ribbed cap.

For her first project, Judy decided to make Christmas stockings for family. I'd say that's a pretty hefty undertaking for a beginner project but she did a fantastic job!

The Fair Isle pattern that she is following had a misprint for the number of stitches required in the toe section so Judy thought she had made a mistake somewhere. Together we figured out it wasn't her fault but the fault of someone who didn't proof read the pattern!
That was a relief!

We had 19 attendees this week so I had to reconfigure the table set up to fit everyone comfortably. A few members are away so I might have to add even more tables when they all show up!

Athena is reaching the end of her crocheted baby blanket. Today she learned how to weave the ends into the wrong side of the work.

Terry is working with her knitting loom to make another scarf. This one has beads incorporated into the fabric for a little extra bling.

Keiko took some time to get organized with her English translation app and her knitting. She was so excited to tell me she is enrolled in a free English class being offered through the library which she can take from home.

Barbara started this great Christmas red hat called appropriately Jesse's Christmas Hat .

The pattern is free on Ravelry. Barbara pointed out a slight modification she made to make it easier for her to transition from the smaller size needle to the next larger one. The ribbing starts with a size 4 needle for 12 rounds. Then the pattern has you switch to a size 7 needle and jump right into the cables which Barbara said was very fiddly and didn't look neat. So she decided to knit one round with the size 7 needle and then begin the cable design. It looks great and doesn't affect the design at all.

Ceil has just another section of lace to go on her Good Vibes shawl and then she'll be finishing it up. Those colors are stunning!

Last week I showed you the beginning of a cuff that Pam started on her fingerless mitts. This week we see what the yarn looks like as it continues through the skein.

This is the one she finished during the week. It's the fraternal twin to the one above.

Karen's afternoon was spent untangling yarn barf, that mess of yarn that falls out when you try to pull the center from the ball of yarn and it doesn't quite cooperate.

Do you remember the Celtic squares Gerry was crocheting? Look at the beautiful bag she made from it! She has to finish up the edges and line the bag and then attach a handle. Great work Gerry!

Kathy worked on her beading projects and has a few finished already.

These are the three key chains she has made so far.

Jim takes his hobby seriously and is nearing the knitted portion of his blanket. His design will continue in crochet after a few more rows of knitting.

And Bob's blanket keeps growing longer every week. I love his choice of colors!
It's so cheerful!

Rena just started another hat using...

two strands of variegated yarns held together to make a bulky weight yarn.
Fat yarn and fat needles=a quickly finished project!

Janna is whipping out hat after hat with some great Christmas theme colors. The yarn is acrylic bulky weight for easy machine wash and dry.

Cinzia just started a scarf and as we were leaving she stopped to show me the three inches that she had already knitted. Unfortunately, all my things were packed away so I didn't get a photo so she'll probably have the whole scarf finished by next week when I can get a good picture of it.

I have the 1898 Hat on my needles which I'm making for a friend. I am now at the portion of the crown where I can begin the decreases.

Debra is using a pretty berry variegated yarn to make mittens. She likes to use DP's (double pointed needles) when she knits in the round because she doesn't suffer from SSS, Second Sock Syndrome. That's when you finish the first item and just don't feel like making the second one. It's the reason I forced myself to learn how to knit two at a time projects so people don't have to have one cold foot or hand. ;)

Maggie also likes to use DP's when she makes her mittens. More power to you two ladies!

And just because he's so stinkin' cute, here's a picture of my Fozzie. He's had a rough few days this week because we're having some home renovations done and the chaos is taking place in the room where he usually hides to escape scary stuff. After all the noise stopped and the contractors went home yesterday, he jumped into his favorite window and smiled at me as if to thank me for restoring peace to his kingdom.

I'm afraid to tell him that it all starts again on Monday.
I hope you're enjoying the autumn colors and that it inspires you to knit for the coming winter. Have a great week and keep those needles clicking!
