A visitor from London

Rena's sister Rose traveled all the way from the UK to visit and stopped in to make some crafts with us. She is sitting in front of the window with the shade drawn down. She stopped by about a year ago so I guess the Stitch Angels is part of her travel itinerary. LOL!

Rose made Christmas tree decorations using buttons in graduated sizes. What a cute idea!!!

Rena returned to knitting on her C2C blanket. It's got a few more rows which are getting shorter and shorter and should be completed soon.

Someone who won't be finished any time soon is Yvonne! She was happily knitting along but was stopped by a wad of yarn barf, the technical term knitters use for knotted skeins. She doesn't mind though since it gives her a chance to slow down and relax to do something mindless.

Athena's blanket is getting larger each week! She has two more full skeins of this variegated yarn and is keeping her fingers crossed that it will be enough to complete the afghan. If it isn't, I suggested she pick a solid color from the afghan and crochet a border around all four sides until it is the size she likes.

Tomasa returned after a long hiatus to knitting on the socks using the yarn she dyed with food coloring. We got into a discussion about putting projects into "Time Out" when we get frustrated or bored with a project and then wondering what happened to the needles we know we have in the size we need for a new project. Oh yeah, they're in time out with the project still on them. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one to do this.

I have some 100% charcoal colored wool that called out to be a 2X2 ribbed cap so that's what I'm working on.

Jim finished the pumpkin orange band of crochet and has moved on to the traffic cone orange yarn to add another stripe.

Gerry forgot to bring her finished triangular scarf but she started a blanket using a pattern from the wrapper of a skein of yarn.

Keiko's shawl/scarf is coming along nicely. The pattern is called 22.5 Degrees, is very easy to knit, ends with a lovely scalloped edging, and is a free pattern on Ravelry.

Kathy spent her time stringing her beads after we wished her a happy birthday today. Missy put the finishing touches to the last crocheted square for the bandana she has designed. And Bob is still working on that wondrous blanket of his!

Terry, the Queen of Loom Knitting, started a new project but hasn't yet decided what it will become. Today was her last day to join us as she is moving on to a new group.

Debra picked up her crochet project to put the finishing border around the four sides. The black border really helps those colors to pop!

Pam sees the light at the end of the tunnel as she closes the toe of the second sock of these colorful rainbow socks.

Ceil's Fiber Friends Shawl is an easy pattern with just enough design changes to keep it interesting. The pattern can be purchased on Ravelry.com.

Debra and I were trying to guess how old this wool yarn is. We were both guessing by the looks of the label, it's from the 1970's which goes to show you that if you care for the fiber correctly, it will last darn near forever! She's making a pair of mittens.

Barbara is at the beginning of the Bird by Bird Hat which has a pretty cabled design.

And look at the gorgeous stitch definition Janna is getting with this DK weight yarn for her Someday Baby Blanket. The yarn is superwash merino which means machine wash and dry to make it easy to care for.

My last picture, just for pure enjoyment, is my kitty, Fozzie, who received a new scoop from his human brother and from the expression on his face you can tell he's excited. LOL!

As usual, he's bugging me for food so I'm off to feed "The King of the 'Cat'stle".

Have a great week and keep those needles clicking!
