A small group today

It's summer which means some of the Angels are at camp or vacationing. So we had a small but enthusiastic group today.

Mike arrived ready to dive right into the deep end and learn how to knit the magic loop method on his granddaughter's hat so he can ditch those DP's. He bought himself a set of interchangeable needles that contain multiple sizes of needle tips and cables. Now he's all set for anything the knitting world throws at him.

Gail managed to finish the dishcloth even with her broken finger. It was touch and go there for a while but she thinks the healing process is finally progressing nicely.

Karen picked up the red cardigan again after a little hiatus. She has to have patience to knit with that bumpy yarn that looks like a cross between a boucle and a fuzzy chenille.

Rena set aside the baby blankets and started a prayer shawl for a friend

who shattered her hip.

The pattern she's using was suggested on the yarn label.

Ceil is making a shawl for herself with yarns from Whole Knit 'n Caboodle and Miss Babs. The dark color is the Whole Knit 'n Caboodle color called "Winter Berries" and the variegated from Miss Babs is called "Summer Berries". They look fantastic together in person! The pattern uses short rows to create an asymmetrical crescent shape.

The pattern is called "Good Vibes"and can be purchased on Ravelry.

On my needles is a little hat called "Aviatrix"which is also available for sale on Ravelry. Barbara made one a few weeks ago and I was so inspired I had to start one immediately. When I read through the pattern, it might as well have been written in Sanskrit! I couldn't for the life of me figure it out. Then I put it down, went to sleep, awakened with a fresh brain and was able to understand the directions.

This is all to say never start a new pattern after 9PM!

Cinzia is about three repeats of the pattern away from being finished with her baby blanket. She is going to block it which will really enhance the beauty of the lace.

Wherever you are, I hope and pray you are safe and sound from all the crazy storms which have been all around us lately. Take care and keep those needles clicking!
