A small group of Angels today

The questionable weather forecast and illness kept some Angels away today. But a sturdy group of regulars showed up ready to work!

From left to right: Gerry found that she is running out of yarn so she has to make a trip to the store to replenish her supply so she can complete her crocheted shawl. Kathy worked so quickly today that she too ran out of supplies before she could use up all the beads. Jim completed another row of knitting in preparation for the next step...

He will pick up and bind off the knit stitches using a crochet hook so he can continue to add to his project by crocheting it along the edge. His plan is to make it bigger by alternating rows of knitting with rows of crochet.

Janna stopped by just long enough to drop off two hats and a pair of mitts for next week's delivery.

Ceil and Gail admired the work Keiko did on her first vest. For someone who says she doesn't know how to knit, Keiko is doing a fantastic job of creating lovely garments.

She has chosen an adorable, hand painted wooden button for the vest closure.

Now she is working on the Throwback Pixie Hood to go with the vest. There were some stops and starts but she is well on her way to a cute little hood. for a sweet little child.

Kevin, our friendly librarian, has a very creative mind and often regales us with his original poems. Today he sang an original song he wrote to the tune of Teen Angel which, if you remember the melody, starts out "Stitch Angel, Stitch Angel. That fateful night the scarf was stalled, you had to get on track. You pulled the thread.." and continues to tell the tale of the dropped stitch. He's a hoot and brings a smile to everyone's faces!

This is one of the charts Barbara is following to knit her baby blanket.

It is almost finished and now you can see all the darling motifs that are knitted into the design.

Ceil's All I Want Shawl is showing much progress. The yarn is a lovely, soft gray fiber.

And another cozy gray project is Gail's Decision Tree Toque. When she first started it, the design was difficult to see. But now that it's a few inches long, you can see how nice it's coming along.

From left to right: Karen's project is just starting to grow into a colorful cowl. Bob's afghan will fit a large bed when he's finished. And Terry, The Queen of Loom Knitting, is working on a blanket as well.

Lastly, we have the 1898 Hat on my needles. It starts out as flat knitting and then the stitches which are cast on provisionally are joined to the other end to create a closed band. Then stitches are picked up along the edge to knit the crown of the hat. It's an interesting construction and fun to make.

The ground around here is finally completely covered in white and still looks lovely. Looking at the sky makes me think we might get more of the fluffy stuff before the day is over. So I'm in for the night, have my knitting projects all queued up and ready to go and will hunker down to knit after dinner. Have a great week and keep those needles clicking!
