Joyce heard about the Stitch Angels at another branch of the Albany Public Library and dropped in on us today. She likes to crochet and is working on a scarf. She is seated fourth from the left, long brown hair. Welcome to the group Joyce!

She is going rogue and crocheting whatever pleases her and she's not against ripping it out to start over if there's a need to correct or improve. That's my kind of crafter! My husband cringes when I'm about to rip out a good 12" of knitting but if there's a glaring mistake or the yarn doesn't lend itself to a project, there is no sense in continuing.

Gail's Decision Tree Toque is worked in a cozy tweed yarn (the center picture) and her personal project bookends the hat. The shawl she is making for herself is called Geogradient. The first picture shows the row of stitches by her hand that by the time she finishes picking up stitches, there will be over 900 stitches on her needle! She must have the patience of a saint!
Athena is taking a break from crochet and is trying her hand at loom knitting. She started a hat and is incorporating different colors for a marled effect.

Janna made a pair of fingerless mitts for when she has to walk her dog. She improvised a bit and decreased the top portion to hug her fingers and then finished it off with an I-cord bind off for a smooth, tubular edge.

Now she's working on a second pair to donate to our current inventory for the elementary school students.

Going in order from left to right, Kathy spent the afternoon stringing her beads while Anaiah practiced her crochet skills. This is her first time with the hobby and I think she's getting the hang of it. Terry, the Queen of Loom Knitting, is setting up her knitting loom to begin a new project.
Debra found some small amounts of yarn and combined them using the Helix method of knitting to make a cute striped beanie with a fold up brim.

Yvonne just got started on a scarf using a pretty self striping yarn.

The project on my needles is called Beloved and I'm about 75% done. I borrowed the leaf motif from another pattern to decorate the end of the tie.

Maria finished the ribbing portion of her Bastion Beanie and is beginning the decorative crown of the hat. She had some concerns about it not looking like the picture but sometimes you need to knit a few inches before the design appears.

Jim continues to combine his love of crochet with his love of knitting.

Pam is working on a beanie and has almost reached the portion of the crown where stitches are decreased to close the top of the hat.

She brought along her shawl project too to show us her progress. The yarn is a lovely, soft slow changing gradient. This is the kind of project that makes us say, "Just a few more rows until I reach a new color." Then before you know it, it's 2 o'clock in the morning!
Or is that just me. LOL!

Barbara is knitting a baby blanket for her cousin. The design incorporates blocks, letters, and animal shapes for a darling blanket.

Pat has a new grandbaby on the way this June so she's planned a blanket to match the color theme of the baby's room. You couldn't have found a more perfect match!

The yarn bin came out of the supply closet so Karen was checking it out. I think she had to untangle a few strands to reach the one she wanted. No matter how neatly the yarn is stored it always winds up tangled. Must be some gremlins messing with it behind our backs.

My kitty is trying to tell me he's hungry by biting the computer cord and generally getting into all kinds of mischief. So before he electrocutes himself, I'll leave off here and wish you a happy new year and remind you to keep those needles clicking!
