Hoping to finish before next week

knittingchick50

Those of us who are making clothing items for next week's yarn bombing worked feverishly to finish so they can be added to the inventory.

Yvonne started another hat using pretty pastel colors.

Pam worked on a scarf using a very autumnal variegated yarn.

Pat found a lovely heather green chunky yarn with which she will crochet this headband.

My needles worked on a chevron shaped cowl of my own design.

And Gerry started a crochet hat which uses a stitch called Back Post Double Crochet to create that zig zag design.

Debra used a cotton yarn to knit one of a collection of dishcloths which she will donate to Grassroot Givers, a non-profit organization in Albany, NY.

Maria's cowl which she is knitting for a friend, is growing quickly. These colors look so nice together and the next band of knitting will be a burgundy colored yarn to compliment these.

Ceil is having issues with the stitch count on her Homestead Shawl. She is following the directions correctly but is not ending with the number of stitches the pattern says there should be. She said she'll think about it and decide if the yarn wants to be something else.

Darwin worked on crocheting a strap handle for his bag while Gerry helped sew up the seams of the hat he made earlier. The hat fits great!

Bob and Jim are nearing the end of their respective blankets

while Athena just started a new one.

Gail completed her "Flags of the Olympic Countries" scarf which turned out great! The yarn that is left from each flag will become Helix Hats.

This was a cross stitch project that Gail started 25 years ago and lost interest in finishing. One day it came up in conversation and Yvonne offered to finish the last little bit. Today was the big reveal after Gail had it turned into a pillow. Beautiful work ladies!

Edgar counts the stitches in every row of his crocheted hat

to be sure it maintains a straight edge.

Rena worked on one of two corner to corner blankets she's making for new babies in her circle of friends.

Cinzia stopped by long enough to deliver some yarn donations and wind up two hanks in preparation for knitting a scarf.

And she was on hand to help Keiko decide what kind of yarn to use for the Waldkind scarf.

I need to hurry and finish my cowl so I can include it in the inventory for next Friday. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather! And keep those needles clicking!
